    Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore

Prosecco Superiore DOCG originates among the dense and steep hills of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene which develop along a ridge from east to west for roughly 40km. Glera grapes have been grown here for more than three centuries to give life to various versions of sparkling wines: Extra Brut, Brut, Extra Dry, Dry and Demi-Sec. The production area covers 15 municipalities and represents the heart of the international production of Prosecco Superiore.

Prosecco Superiore DOCG is recognized for its vital elegance, delicate golden colour, moderate body, fresh and versatile taste, and fruity and floral aromas. It is also appreciated internationally and is perfectly paired with the original dishes of the local area, which highlight the product's genuineness. The element of excellence is without a doubt the famous Cartizze, produced from grapes that come from a specific Conegliano-Valdobbiadene hill.

Thanks to its elegance and particularly pronounced character, it distinguishes itself from Prosecco DOC due to its versatility, which makes it suitable for both aperitifs and light first and second course dishes, especially white meat or fish. The major part of the Prosecco Superiore DOCG production is represented by sparkling wines that are distinguished by the character, quality and finesse of the perlage, compared to the traditional sparkling wine production. This derives entirely from the unique properties of the local area, to which Valdo adds its own philosophy and sparkling wine tradition, favouring a second fermentation through a "Charmat-Lungo" method: the second fermentation, which produces the typical bubbles, lasts longer than 5 months as opposed to a typical 2-3 month period adopted by other sparkling wines.
